Buffalo Soldiers Education Foundation, Challenge:
The Buffalo Soldiers Education Foundation works to promote, educate, and inform the general public about the merits of the overall history of the United States most notable African-American soldier regiment(s), The Buffalo Soldiers. Buffalo Soldiers Education Foundation, Strategy:
Our strategy was to focus on key Buffalo Soldier figures and moments in time that were significant to not just American history, but African-American history. To weave this intricate and elaborate story we devised a underlying framework that hinges on key individuals and how their stories were related to events, and items larger than themselves.
^
Buffalo Soldiers Education Foundation, Solution:
Working with visual, audio, and text based archives we became immersed in the content and for a fleeting moment we could start to get a sense of what it really meant to be an African-American soldier. Taking this research we utilized a design that is part online documentary, part lesson plan, part history book, and an all African-American story.
